OTL looked at the 2004 NFL Draft and focused on the Eli Manning drama.

As far as QBs in that draft, clearly Big Ben is the alpha male of the group. I’m still not sold on Eli being a franchise QB. When the GMen’s offense got Plaxico’d, we saw the same old Eli.

The question becomes was the Giants’ offense a function of Plax drawing double coverage or Eli slowly progressing into a future franchise QB? You know how I feel about that. What say you Stank-0? M0yo? SPS?
Regarding the 2009 draft, I’m also up in the air about drafting a QB when my O line folds like a lawn chair. If I were the Lions, I would shop the #1 pick for a rack of picks down the line, either this year or next year. The Iggles have continually bolstered both lines which is a recipe for success. Your franchise needs to either be able to protect or create pressure.

One of the analysts made a good point about big arms, i.e. JaMarcus Russell, etc. Scouts fall in love with the big arm, but don’t look at decision-making skills and accuracy. I will say this, Russell has the tools but is hampered by a senile owner and dysfunctional franchise. Let him go elsewhere before we label him.

So what should the Lions do with the #1 pick? Stank-0? M0yo? SPS?
One last point, what has Jason Campbell done to make the Redskins front office doubt him? First, they wanted Jay Cutler now they are talkin to Mark Sanchez. Um…the Skins have not only Campbell but Colt Brennan as well. Why collect QBs? At least let Campbell learn a single offensive system beyond one year before you start trying to replace him. Six Flags Snyder, do better!

Should the Skins draft another QB to make it three now? SPS? M0yo? Stank-0?

That’s what Chauncey Billups was doin.  His J was splashin, particularly from distance, goin 8 of 9.  He netted 36 points.

People may be tempted to say that the Hornets gave up, but Stank-0 sees it a bit differently.  The Hornets fell prey to altitude.  The Hornets’ home floor is below sea level and Denver is a mile above sea level.  By the end of this series, they won’t be as winded but in the early games it will be a factor.

Stank-0 understands these are athletes, but environment does matter.

Don’t forget that the Nuggets can score points in bunches.  They got points from everywhere, including J.R. puttin on his own personal show.  J.R. was responsible for 10 straight at one point.  He was crossin over, steppin back, and splashin dudes out there.
