This is goin to end badly

Posted: February 20, 2009 in Big XII, Mike Leach, Texas Tech

For those that haven’t heard Texas Tech and Mike Leach have been in contract discussions. The story took a weird turn after Leach turned down the offer. The Board of Regents was very close to firing Leach.

Well that is all water under the bridge. Leach agreed to a deal.

Weeks ago, Leach and Tech essentially settled on the financial terms of a five-year, $12.7 million deal. But Leach took issue with several clauses the school added when the sides were trading proposals. The provision that bothered Leach the most would have triggered his firing and a $1.5 million penalty if he interviewed for another job without getting permission from Myers, the athletic director. Leach’s existing contract had no such restriction.

Really? Stank-0 can understand on a certain level, but firing the man that made your school? That’s a bit arrogant isn’t it? Leach would have been snapped up quickly either by another school or maybe as a QB coach for a NFL franchise.

Stank-0 thinks that Leach is preparing his exit strategy. KU should definitely keep an eye on TT’s Leach. KU could become the pass happy offense of the Big XII if they can acquire Leach.
